I come from four generations of Stolen Generations. My family's Country is Gurindji, Marra and Ngalakan/Milwaripra of the Northern Territory. I now live and work on Larrakia Country — forced off my own land by the same system that lets a few people in remote communities block our families from creating economic opportunities.
In Darwin City, in the Botanical Gardens, you will find a tribute rock that my family helped build (Link)— a monument to the Stolen Generations. Our truth is carved in stone there.
They can block our economy, but they cannot stop our stories.
