Our sacred trust: cultural respect

At Original Tribes, cultural respect is the living heart of everything we do. We're honoured to share the art, stories, and experiences of Indigenous Australia, always through partnership, permission, and deep accountability to the artists and communities who create them.

What cultural respect means for original tribes

For us, it's simple: we are guests, not owners. The powerful art and profound stories we share belong to living cultures with rich histories and ongoing connections to country. We don't 'take inspiration' – we build relationships. Every design, narrative, or experience comes with genuine consent, deep cultural context, and fair compensation for the knowledge-holders and artists. Our promise is to walk alongside, not ahead, ensuring our platform amplifies, honours, and never appropriates.

Why cultural respect is non-negotiable for you

Engaging with Indigenous culture without respect can turn appreciation into appropriation, and connection into colonisation. It's essential to prevent real harm – cultural erosion, economic injustice, and spiritual violation. By choosing respect, you transform your role from a consumer to a responsible guest, an observer to an accountable partner, and a tourist to a respectful learner. This ensures authenticity, supports artists directly, and helps to heal, rather than repeat, past harms. It’s about being a part of storykeeping, not just storytelling.

Our core asks: your original tribes P.A.C.T.

We invite you to make a P.A.C.T. when engaging with us: P – Proceed with permission: Always ask before repurposing any design. A – Attribute with accuracy: Name the artist and Nation specifically. C – Compensate fairly & directly: Support ethical sources; avoid imitations. T – Treat as teaching, not entertainment: Engage with humility and curiosity. By following these actions, you're helping protect living culture, honour sovereignty, and ensure Indigenous creativity thrives on its own terms.

“Original Tribes delivers more than just beautiful art; they deliver a profound connection to culture, always with deep respect and integrity. It's truly inspiring.”
