Understanding our commitment to you
At Original Tribes, we value transparency and fairness. This page outlines the important terms and conditions that govern your experience with our products, art, and stories, ensuring a smooth and respectful journey for everyone.

Your shopping journey: payment, delivery, & returns
When you shop with Original Tribes, you can pay securely using all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) processed through our website. Full payment is processed at the time you place your order.
We proudly ship all orders from Darwin, Northern Territory, via Australia Post. Please allow 1-2 business days for us to meticulously pack your order, followed by 5-10 business days for delivery across Australia. Once your order is dispatched, we'll send you a tracking link so you can follow its journey.
We want you to absolutely love your purchase. If something isn't quite right, here's our straightforward process: First, contact us within 14 days of receiving your order at jd.hampton@originaltribes.com. For faulty or incorrect items, we offer a full refund or replacement and cover the return shipping. For a change of mind (e.g., wrong size or style), you can exchange the item or receive store credit. In this instance, you'll cover the cost to ship the item back to us in its original condition.
For complete details, please see our full Returns & Exchanges Policy.

Respecting our art & stories: intellectual property
Our art and stories are deeply special, reflecting culture and community. We want to ensure clarity on how you can appreciate and share our designs.
✅ What you are welcome to do: Enjoy and be inspired by our artwork and stories for your personal appreciation. Share images of products you’ve purchased on your personal social media, provided you credit and tag @OriginalTribes. Link directly to our website to share our work with others.
❌ What you cannot do (without our explicit written permission): Copy, reproduce, or modify any of our designs, artwork, or written content. Use our designs or concepts for your own commercial purposes, including printing on other products, incorporating them into your own artwork, or for business branding. Claim our work as your own or remove any copyright or watermark information.
The heart of the matter: purchasing a t-shirt or a print means you own that physical item. It does not mean you own the design, artwork, or story itself. Those rights remain with the creator. These protections allow us to control how our culture and stories are represented, ensure the integrity of our community partnerships, and maintain a sustainable business that supports our artists.
For inquiries regarding collaborations, licensing, or press usage, please contact us at jd.hampton@originaltribes.com.

Your peace of mind: getting help & fair resolutions
We're here to assist you. If you have any questions or an issue with your purchase, here's the best way to get in touch and our promise on how we'll handle it.
The best way to contact us: Please email us at jd.hampton@originaltribes.com. Why email? It provides us with a written record of your order details and concern, which helps us resolve things accurately and efficiently. What to include: Please provide your order number and a clear description of your question or issue. For faulty items, including a photo is very helpful.
Our promise to sort things out fairly: We will acknowledge: We’ll confirm we’ve received your email within 1 business day. We will listen: We’ll review your concern carefully and may ask clarifying questions to fully understand the situation. We will offer a solution: Based on the issue, we will propose a fair resolution in line with our policies and Australian Consumer Law. This is typically done within 2-3 business days of getting all necessary information.
Our guiding principles: Our solutions are based on our stated policies (like our Returns & Exchanges Policy), the Australian Consumer Law (which guarantees remedies for faulty items), and common sense and fairness for situations that might not be black and white. We aim to treat every issue with respect, transparency, and a genuine desire to reach an outcome you consider fair.
