Acknowledgement of Country

::: Cultural Warning :::

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are advised that this website contains images, names, and voices of deceased persons.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands across Australia, where we create, gather, and share. We honour their enduring connections to Country, waters, kin, and stories, and recognise their continuous care of these relationships for over 65,000 years.

We pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present, the Stolen Generations, and extend this respect to all First Nations community members.

Acknowledgment of Truth & Ongoing Struggle

This is unceded land. We respect the Traditional Custodians and honour their unbroken sovereignty.

We state this truth: the colonial project was built by a corrupt system. It was a crime against Aboriginal Nations—breaking Tribal Law, committing violence, and refusing treaty. That same system was built on the backs of ordinary people: through the inhuman treatment of convicts and the exploitation of early working settlers.

The powerful—governments and corporations of the past—enriched themselves by dividing and oppressing both the First Peoples and the labouring class.

We must also confront a continuing truth. While the forms have evolved, the same core injustices persist. Today, the pursuit of power and profit continues to drive the dispossession of First Nations people from their land and culture, and to fuel the exploitation and inequality facing working people across this continent. The legacy of a broken past is maintained by systems that still too often prioritise greed over justice, and division over unity.

Recognising this shared history—and its ongoing patterns—is the essential foundation for true solidarity. In this shared understanding lies the power to build a truly just future: one that must be grounded in Treaty, economic fairness, and a unified commitment to justice for all.
